Good morning and welcome again to the weekend! We don’t have any scheduled housing news today, but we did a scan for you for anything unscheduled. While Black Knight and CoreLogic have been reporting national housing prices continuing higher, the NAR (National Assn. of Realtors) is reporting prices beginning to fall in certain metropolitan areas. A 4th quarter 2021 report shows the percentage of metro areas showing double-digit price increases fell from 78% to 67%. Housing prices continued to make other headlines this morning as The Senate had a full-blown argument yesterday over who is to blame for runaway prices. Finger-pointing at its finest!
Bonds today are up marginally after yesterday’s big selloff. The 10yr T-Note is +4/32 to yield 2.01%. In MBS land FNMA 30yr 3.00% are +7/32 to $100-08, which is a 2.91% yield and +98 to the 5.3yr treasury curve. That’s it from MBS central.
