Good morning and happy Monday! After a couple of weeks of little in the way of news, we have an active schedule this week. We begin with our monthly report from the homebuilders for July. In June, we had a 67 reading on their Housing Market Index, basically a sentiment index. The street called for a small decline to 65 this month and got blindsided with a 55 print! The builders are having issues with high rates and prices, not to mention supply chain interruptions. Later in the week, we’ll get the heavy artillery from Housing Starts, Building Permits, and Existing Home Sales.

Bonds today are lower in price with 10yr T-Notes -17/32 to yield 2.98%. In MBS FNMA 30yr 4.50% are -5/32 to $100-03, which is a 4.45% yield and +136 basis points to the 5.7yr treasury curve. That’s it from us. Have a great day and call or email with your MBS and whole loan inquiries.
